Art was cleaning his outdoor BBQ area, tossing leaves and other organic debris down the hill when he felt his heavy gold ring go flying too! He heard it rolling down the freshly mowed hillside and then quietly vanish into the tall grass. Wisely, Art called The Ring Finders in San Francisco. Dave Millman was unable to handle the call, so he referred it to me. Happily I was able recover Art’s treasured keepsake in less than an hour of searching, thanks to Art’s excellent description of the probable search area.

Art is a delightful fellow. I was very pleased to recover his very unique white and yellow gold architectural gold band.

Thank you so much for the call and allowing us to use your photos Art!

Client’s Thankyou Note:

“The Ring Finders is quite simply an amazing organization, and proof that there are do-gooders in the world and Angels among us. Marshall Smith is one of those rare and remarkable Angels!

After losing a very special, sentimental and valuable ring on my 8-acre steep wooded hillside property in Marin, I was resigned that I would never find my lost ring. After reading about all of the amazing people on ringfinders.com website I got a little bit of hope that this wasn’t a lost cause. I picked up the phone and called one of the “Angels” and they said they were busy, but could recommend another colleague Mr. Marshall Smith. I called Marshall and much to my surprise he was immediately available! I asked him the “cost” to recover the ring, and he was hesitant and told me he’d have to at least cover his “costs” which amounted to his modest gas and toll charges. I won’t reveal the amount I gave him as a small reward… but I never for a moment felt that the The Ring Finders were doing this service for the money or anything other than doing good deeds in the world and offering an amazing service.

Marshall had me re-enact the circumstances of losing my ring, asked me a few questions, and managed to find my ring in less than an hour on a steep wooded slope covered with brush and grasses. Marshall took a distressing situation and made it fun, memorable and really left me with a great feeling about our fellow human beings when we decide to use our skills for good.

I’m delighted to have my ring back, but I’m more delighted now that my ring has additional meaning beyond its original story of love. The Ring Finder’s and Marshall have now given my ring additional meaning beyond its original sentiment. My ring now reminds me that there are Angels among us; kind amazing people who do good deeds in this world, and give me hope that we can all do better in service to each other.

Thanks Marshall, I’m forever grateful to you and The Ring Finders!”

Solid 24k Gold Wedding Band Recovered in Half Moon Bay, CA 94019

  • from Portland (Oregon, United States)

Two weeks shy of their 2nd wedding anniversary, the husband had been flying his kite when he noticed his solid gold, 24 karat wedding band had somehow slipped off his finger and fallen into the deep dry sand. His ring is an exact match of his wife’s ring, both solid Indian gold. After searching all afternoon with his 10 friends, the husband could not sleep last night. We came back to foggy Half Moon Bay beach this morning, and walked to just south of the state park, where he had wisely marked the search area with a large pile of sand.

I began a systematic spiral search pattern radiating out from his marker pile. After about an hour, and after finding 9-10 beer bottle caps and other debris, about 25 feet from the center marker, I detected what sounded like a quarter. Expecting to add an old  coin to the day’s finds, his glittering solid gold band appeared in my scoop! Solid gold has a deep rich, magnificent texture and color, there is nothing else like it.

This happy couple requested to be anonymous, but agreed to allow me to publish photos of their matching solid gold wedding bands. Happy 2nd Anniversary!

Any day is a great day after a successful recovery. We went our separate ways this morning with a deep feeling of happiness and gratitude in our hearts. Nothing beats a successful recovery on a Sunday morning!
