18k Gold Wedding Band Lost on Steep Trail – Found by The Ring Finders Portland & The Gorge
Matt had slipped & slid down a steep slope leading to the Sandy River, near Troutdale, OR. Once at the waters edge he realized his wedding band was missing. His visual search and later use of a metal detector he owned was unsuccessful. He found my info and within a few hrs I was on my way. As I started searching he reiterated how slippery the ground was and even though I was wearing relatively new La Sportiva hiking boots down I went and I also slid for about 15′. After wiping off some mud and blood I was at it again this time working uphill to my last coil spot. I’m not sure if the ring was at it’s previous resting spot or I knocked it downhill some but just barely covered was Matt’s ring; the Equinox 800 did it’s job.
Matt was quite relieved and very appreciative to see I had it in hand as I cautiously climbed my way to the top of the hill. Such a great feeling to return a wedding band.
