Captiva / Sanibel Island — Engagement Ring Lost 30 Minutes after Proposal — Found and Returned
Thirty minutes after saying “yes” to a marriage proposal, Kim lost her engagement ring while trying to take a photo of the beautiful diamond ring. In the process of trying to get the perfect picture, the ring fell into the beach sand below at the water’s edge. The newly engaged couple as well as several on-lookers searched frantically for the lost ring—with no success. That’s when Kim decided to search the internet on “how to find a lost ring” and she came across our contact information.
My wife and I arrived at the location over four hours after the ring had initially been lost. The tide was rising and the wave action had increased a lot in that time. We knew that with every passing minute, the ring could get buried under the soft sand quickly.
We got right to work going in opposite directions with our detectors staying within the search area the couple thought the ring was lost in. Not long after our search began, my wife heard a faint / sketchy deep signal on her metal detector. Finally after three or four attempts to retrieve the target, the ring appeared in her scoop and was quickly back on Kim’s finger.
This is one marriage proposal this couple will never forget and will be talking about for years to come!
