Lost Heirloom Gold Wedding Band While Jogging In Ottawa Ontario

  • from Ottawa (Ontario, Canada)

Benjamin was married December 2021. His mother had melted some heirloom jewelry (his grandmothers wedding band) It was something irreplaceable! Benjamin was out jogging when he noticed some mud on his hand, as he tried to wipe it off when he felt his ring fly off. He stopped immediately but couldn’t see where it went. It’s also spring time and the ground is covered with dead leaves and branches. He spent hours searching and couldn’t find it. He then purchased a metal detector but still had no luck finding it. I came across his request for help and Eric and I offered to assist in the search. We met Benjamin and he lead us to the exact spot where he felt it come off. Often in these trails it’s heavily contaminated with trash. We were pleasantly surprised to only hear a few nails. Eric took one section of the trail, as I worked my way up towards him. It took about 10 minutes to clear the left side. His ring was on his left hand so we figured it would be the best place to start. I was starting to feel a little worried as we expanded the search on the right side of the trail. I came around a tree and finally had a loud tone! I move a few leaves and saw the beautiful golden O. I look up at Benjamin and made a sign for him to come over. I point down and tell him to look under the leaves. He had this instant look of relief and happiness! It truly made our day. I’m so happy we were able to reunite him with something so priceless! Of course as soon as he told me it was heirloom gold I cried ha ha! Another happy ending!
