They found our SRARC Ring Finders website and called Joe Szemer during our club meeting. Ed Osmar left the meeting to do a search with no luck. The next day Dimitur Alipieve and Howard Metts joined Ed for a second hunt. About an hour later Ed came up with the beautiful ring. Dana and her husband were amazed to see her ring again. Karen and friends walked over a mile down the beach and decided to take a late swim. Karen took off the gold school ring she received from her grandmother who had passed last year and placed it on her shirt in the sand. When leaving she picked up the shirt and the ring vanished in the sand. She found our SRARC Ring Finders website and contacted Howard Metts who set up a hunt. Rob Clarke, Howard Metts, Joe Montione, Pat Montione, and Ed Osmar hunted for well over an hour. Finally Karens friend remembered he took a picture with GPS coordinates, this placed us a few hundred yards down the beach. Finally Howard came up with the ring at the waters edge. What a happy ending for Karen’s Florida vacation, she now has a story to go with her grandmother’s ring! Way to go team SRARC!

Kristen took off her ring and put it on the chair to put sun tan lotion on. When ready to leave she picked up the chair forgetting the ring was in it. Realizing the ring had fallen into the sand where she could not see it, she searched on line for help and found our SRARC Ring Finders website. Joe and Pat Montione along with Ed Osmar met with Kristen to do a search the next day. Ed was able to find the ring in 10 minutes. Kristen was very happy to see the ring again! Great job team!

Dylan and Nicole were in town from Denver to visit family and friends, and to hang out at the local beaches. Dylan was standing in the water at Indian Shores Beach throwing the football when his white gold wedding band came off his finger. The search that followed proved unproductive, and an internet search led Dylan to Ringfinders. He contacted SRARC vice president Joe Szemer, who put out a notice about the loss. Bill Gallant and Mike Shuler responded and met Dylan at the site. Dylan stayed as long as he could, but eventually had to leave to meet family in Clearwater. After two hours of unsuccessful hunting, Bill and Mike were getting concerned. They decided to go outside the boundaries of the search zone, and within a few minutes, the ring was found! They contacted Dylan, who rushed back to the beach with Nicole to meet Bill and Mike in the parking lot! The photo shows how excited this wonderful couple was to have their sentimental item back! Since he had to return to Denver the next day, SRARC is especially glad that Dylan could relax and enjoy the last day of his Florida vacation!

Annie took off her ring and put it in her pocket while applying sun tan lotion. While washing the sand off her feet before leaving she noticed the ring was no longer in her pocket. She called her friend Austin a fireman with Clearwater who contacted Howard Metts. A hunt was set for the next day with Rob Clarke, Dimitur Alipiev, Ed Osmar, Gary Leyland, and Howard Metts attending. Annie was showing us where she sat on the sand when Gary looked down and saw something shiny. He turned his machine on to verify it was metal and produced the ring, most of us never had a chance to turn on our machines! A quick hunt with a very happy ending and a very thankful Annie. Great job team!

Tobias and his wife Imke were spending a day on Clearwater Beach. When they got home he noticed his ring was missing. The police were called to report the ring missing and the officer on duty suggested they call our SRARC Ring Finder group. Howard Metts received a text and set up a hunt. Bill Gallant, Howard Metts, and Ed Osmar hunted for 30 minutes before Bill came up with the ring just outside the search area. As you can see from the expression on Imke, she was amazed and overjoyed that her husband’s ring was found. This will be a very Merry Christmas for them with a story they can tell family and friends.

Ring Lost on Clearwater Beach. Recovered By SRARC.

Michael and his friends, Fonzie and Caden, were throwing the ball in waist-deep water at Clearwater Beach. Michael was wearing a gold cross on a chain which was handed down to him by his father, who had received it when he was 16 years old. The chain came off, and as it fell, Fonzie managed to catch it, but the cross fell into the water. All three boys searched until dark, but were unable to locate the heirloom cross. Caden’s parents knew Mike and Mary Shuler were metal detectorists and told them about the situation. Mike responded to the site with fellow detectorist Ed Osmar, but the cross was not found. Mike decided to wait until the evening low tide and invite more help. That’s when Mike Miller, Howard Metts, Bill Gallant, and Mike’s wife, Mary, joined the hunt. After two hours of hunting in the rough water, Mike Miller came up with the cross! We’re very glad that Michael is reunited with this beautiful family heirloom!

Shannon lost his gold ring in the water while tossing a ball. SRARC received a call from the heartbroken couple and a hunt was set up by Joe and Ed. After the area was laid out with a grid by Ed, the hunt began. A few minutes in the water, Joe found the ring. Today was a very special day. Nine years ago, Shannon and Hope were married here in Florida. A great way to start the New Year.

Jordan and Lindsay were visiting Clearwater Beach while on their vacation from Kansas City. Before running into the surf, Jordan removed his platinum wedding band and carefully folded it into his shirt. When it was time to leave Jordan gathered his belongings and headed off the beach. It wasn’t long before he realized his ring was missing, and hours of digging through the sand where his cabana had been proved fruitless. Randy Cooper (Jordan’s father in-law)found the SRARC website and shared it with Jordan and Lindsay, who quickly contacted Joe Szemer. Joe put out the call to the Ringfinders, and Mike Shuler and Bill Gallant met with Jordan at the site about an hour later. Jordan had wisely outlined the area of the loss in the sand, and in less than five minutes, an emotional Jordan was wearing his ring again!

Lola was playing with her sister on the sandbar behind her family’s beach home when she felt the ring slip off her finger. This ring had been given to her by her grandmother, who had brought it over from Poland.  Lola found Ringfinders online and contacted Joe Szemer to schedule a hunt. Two hours later, Bill Gallant and Mike Shuler met with Lola and her mother at their home and began to search for the lost heirloom. 42 minutes later (Lola’s mother was timing us), Bill had the ring in his scoop. He walked it back to the shore, where he was greeted with cheers and hugs!
