The other day, I received a call from a young woman named Margaux and her mother, Stacey. They were understandably distressed—Margaux had lost a very special pendant, a cherished family heirloom that had been passed down for decades.

Stacey had lent the pendant to Margaux for the evening, knowing how much she loved it. Later that night, Margaux was spending time with friends at a friend’s house, enjoying the backyard and playing with the dogs. But just before heading back inside, she realized something was wrong—the fish-shaped pendant was no longer around her neck. Only the choker remained.

The loss was heartbreaking. The pendant had once belonged to Margaux’s grandmother before being passed down to Stacey, making it deeply meaningful to the entire family.

The following day, I met Stacey at the property, where Caroline graciously gave us full access to the backyard. It was a large area, and the search took a few hours—but persistence paid off.
In the end, I was able to successfully “catch” Stacey’s precious fish pendant.

I had a lot of fun surprising Stacey and Caroline with my fishy discovery. The moment Stacey realized that I had found her mother’s irreplaceable keepsake, her face looked as though it might burst into a rainstorm—she was overwhelmed with joy and relief. We immediately called Margaux in New York to share the great news.
The four of us shared a special moment celebrating together, recounting everything that had happened leading up to the recovery.

What had started as a nightmare ended in relief, gratitude, and even a bit of laughter.

It was truly a joy to help restore something so meaningful—a treasured family pendant that had carried decades of memories, now safely back where it belongs.
