Sanibel Island — Diamond and Gold Pendant Found and Returned

from Sanibel Island (Florida, United States)

We received a call from this lovely gal who had lost her 1 carat diamond pendant in the front yard of her home.

While taking her dogs out, the dogs became entangled in their leashes around a tree.  In all the commotion a friend had noticed her chain which was still around her neck had come undone and the pendant had fallen off into the grass below.

Florida grass is very thick and they were unable to locate the diamond pendant.  To make the search even more difficult, there is very little gold on the pendant, so not just any metal detector would be able to locate it.  That’s when we received the call to see if we had the proper metal detecting equipment that would be able detect such a small gold item.

After discussing the situation, my wife and I felt confident we would be able to find the pendant and we made arrangements to stop by on our way home from a weekend getaway—which happened to fall on December 25th.

In less than 10 minutes of searching and much to her surprise, the pendant was found.

It makes us truly happy to see the amazement and skepticism disappear when a once lost item can be found and returned back to the owner!

Wedding Band Lost in Sanibel Ocean Found & Returned

from Sanibel Island (Florida, United States)

We received a call from a groom who was in desperate need of our metal detecting services.  As his story unfolded, he explained how he had only been married for 17 hours when his wedding band fell off into the warm Gulf waters at the Sundial Beach Resort on Sanibel Island.

We arrived at the location and as my wife and I were gathering our detecting gear together, he asked us what our success rate was.  We explained it was about 95%.

He took us to the beach and we discussed the events that led to him discovering that his ring was missing.  We began our search and several minutes went by with no success.

We met up with him again and went over the details a second time.  This time we all agreed we needed to expand our search area.  Within a few minutes  later, my wife got a good signal in deeper water and within the first scoop there it was!

Needless to say, he was very happy to have his ring back and we were happy for him!

A collaborative effort led to another successful ring recovery!

Missing platinum wedding band found for newlyweds in Gulf near Sanibel Island, FL

from Sanibel Island (Florida, United States)

December 8, 2012

While shelling in the cool and refreshing waters of the Gulf of Mexico off of Sanibel, this newly married couple realized that the husband’s platinum wedding band had gone missing. The couple was extremely distraught as the band holds much sentimental value to them.

After searching extensively on their own, the couple gave me a call the next morning.  Within a few hours of the call, my wife and I were each in the water detecting.  Another few hours had passed with no success of finding the missing ring–we were all very discouraged.  After consulting with the couple again as to the exact area where they thought the ring went missing, my wife and I decided to split up again and return to the water to search.

After several minutes–SUCCESS!   The ring was found a few yards outside the search area.  My wife and I reunited the couple with the ring.  Hugs, tears and many thank you’s were exchanged and the couple can now rest easy knowing the missing ring is back on the husband’s finger where it belongs.
