Beware of the icy grip that Jack Frost has on your rings.  If you live in part of the world where winter means snow and cold and it is necessary to scrape ice off your car windshield or dust snow from the same make sure you are wearing gloves.   Unfortunately, Davis like many forgot that fingers shrink in the cold and while clearing his car of snow and ice lost his ring.  That’s where the Ring Finders come in, upon searching the Internet for a metal detector he stumbled upon our web page www.theringfinders.com and called me for help.  We agreed on a time to meet and I met up with him at his home where he showed me his parking area roughly 3 meters by 3 meters with about 5 cm of snow on the area.   Davis was sure it should be in the area and with that, I started a grid pattern of the area.

For you folks with detectors out there; I had my Garrett ATPRO set one notch down from max sensitivity, everything notched out with the exception of 40 – 65 and iron audio off as this area was heavy with subterranean litter.

I started out close to the fence hearing the odd murmur of junk and nails but that’s not the sound I was listening for,  then I heard  a nice bright tone, I swung over the target a couple of times before looking for it visually, when Davis’ lovely wife lunged forward and grabbed at the snow I had just sept away with my coil and with a squeal of joy she held the lost treasure in her hand.  Jubilant smiles beamed in the dark of the winter evening and it was hugs all around.   Another very happy customer of The Ring Finders.  Thank you, Davis, for the generous reward.

First winter snow has arrived here in Airdrie, AB and  rings slide off fingers quickly when they are cold. Today I was asked to find a mans Wedding Ring.  Kim, explain her husband had been playing with their dog in the snow and had lost his wedding band, unfortunately the hadn’t noticed until they got home and were at the dinner table.

She thought they had a pretty good idea where it might be in the park, so when I arrived we went over to the park and searched the Snow Drifts but had no luck, only about 4 signals that were even remotely close to Titanium.  Kim said, that they had also walked along the pathway to a small bridge before heading home.  I decided the scan the sides of the  pathway and after about 3 feet got a loud tone  and the signal ID number was in the right range for Titanium, but this was on the paved path.  I fully expected this to be something underneath the pavement but when I search for a ring I don’t ignore anything and that’s a good thing because I brushed away the snow and there was the wedding band and a large one at that.

Kim was so happy that she was able to  give her husband his ring back tonight at dinner.  Another smile returned, what a great day for Kim and me. Just love seeing the grateful smiles.

LEAF it too the Ring Finders to get that ring back on your finger

I was called out to find a ring for a gentleman who had lost it in his yard while picking up and bagging leaves.  Yes , its autumn and when I got there he had may bags of leaves lined up beside the garage.  Martin explained, that he had been working in the yard doing his leaf cleanup and may have lost the ring in the front yard, backyard or possibly it may have even managed to get into one of the bags which he had already gone through but didn’t see it.

I suggested we start with the bags at which point he grabbed one closest to him and I started to scan it, I asked him if there was any chance that he had added foil or other metal to the bags and he responded he didn’t think so.  So I announced that I had just heard a strong signal so we open the bag and I went in with my Probe which also sounded off.  We emptied the bag and retrieved the Gold Ring he had received on his 18th birthday form his Mom many years ago.  This was one of the fastest ring finds so far but had the potential to be much longer if I had started with the yard, sometimes luck is on our side.

As you can see he was extremely happy to get his treasured ring back and agreed to have it sized so as not to lose it again.
Thank you Martin for the kind reward.
