Diamond Wedding Band Lost in Backyard Over 2 Years Ago in Guelph/Eramosa, Ontario

  • from Brampton (Ontario, Canada)

Karen was doing some mechanical repairs on her vehicle and decided to put her diamond wedding band and her keys in her back pocket so they wouldn’t get dirty.

She visited the garden area as well as her chicken / hen coupe and back to her car.

At some point Karen pulled her keys out of her back pocket and forgot about her wedding band.

Two years later I received a message for help and decided to head to Guelph since January was quite mild and very little snowfall.

Since I was dealing with 1 1/4 acres the “grid search” technique is the key!

Found some kind of insurance tag, some trash and then her diamond wedding band! I asked her to bring out her detector to hear a tone but had pulled her wedding band out already!

After surprising Karen, we then proceeded to surprise her husband!

Since this was my the first callout for 2024, I honoured her with a freebie! Thank you for your kind gesture which I dedicated to the Kelly Shires Breast Cancer event!

Happy Birthday to us Aquarians!

Engagement Ring Lost in Pond at Disc Golf Tournament in Guelph, Wellington County, Ontario Canada

  • from Brampton (Ontario, Canada)

Patrick & his Fiancé Kiana are seeded ‘disc golf’ players in Southern Ontario. Who knew that was even a sport! I sure didn’t!

They attended Eastview Community Park in Guelph, Ontario to participate in a Disc Golf Tournament on the weekend prior to meeting them in mid July 2023.

One of Kiana’s disc shots ended up in the pond so she decided to try and retrieve it. Instead, she ended up losing her beautiful engagement ring into the pond water. She was absolutely devastated!

After the weekend, Patrick reached out to me and set up a time after work to meet up at the location.

I proceeded into the water with both Patrick and Kiana to start the grid search in touch conditions. Leeches bring the main concern!

Thankfully, I brought along my hip waders because of all the pond and possible underwater creatures. Both Kiana and I were protected but poor Patrick did not have hip waders!

Approximately 35 minutes later, my Minelab Equinox 800 detector found that magic tone of gold!

Once the ring was out of the water and presented back to Kiana the heartfelt tears of joy overcame Patrick and Kiana. The I teared up seeing their tears of joy!

To see such emotion from what this engagement ring meant to both of them means everything to me!

I am so honoured to have been called upon to help this lovely young couple and I am also grateful for their extremely generous donation to my charity, The Kelly Shires Breast Cancer Foundation!! My gay is my PayPal-It-Forward REWARD!

Thank you very much Kiana and Patrick! I look forward to hearing all about your nuptials in October 2024! God bless you both for a very long, happy and healthy marriage!

MENS WEDDING BAND LOST AT EMERALD WATER PARK, PUSLINCH, ONTARIO

  • from Brampton (Ontario, Canada)

Joel took his kids for an afternoon outing at Emerald Lake Trailer Resort & Water Park in Puslinch, Ontario.

He went down the water slide and felt his wedding band slip off his finger into the water below.

We are grateful to obtain permission from the owners to look for his wedding band near the end of the day not to disturb the patrons! Emerald Lake is a private trailer resort as well as a water park open to the public! Check out their website at emeraldlake.ca

I proceeded into the water with my floating battery operated air system called the DIVE BLU3 NOMAD. The nomad has a 30 foot hose and pumps air on demand down through the hose to my regulator! With a weight belt at slightly negative buoyancy, I am able navigate with ease to operate my underwater metal detector to find Joel’s wedding band!

Unfortunately, the visibility was extremely poor due to the silty bottom! There were numerous targets such as trash, small pieces of jewelry, pop cans, and pull tabs.
My metal detector and pin pointer helped me zone in on a solid loud target after approximately 40 minutes in the water!

HURRAY!! This target was Joel’s beautiful gold wedding band! Joel and his Wife were absolutely thrilled to have his wedding band back on his finger!

Happy to help recover Joel’s precious wedding band and grateful for permission from the owners at Emerald Lake Trailer & Water Park!

18k Gold wedding band lost cleaning up leaves in Guelph, ON

  • from Brampton (Ontario, Canada)

Paul and his Wife were completing yard work this past weekend at their home in Guelph, Ontario.

Later in the day after most of the work was completed, Paul got into his vehicle and noticed his wedding band was not on his ring finger.

I headed out with my Minelab Equinox800 multi frequency metal detected. Started to grid search near the fence line. Back tracked the back yard. Then into the side yard we’re 8+ bags of leaves had been packed in.

Four to six feet away I had a solid double tone of 18 on the Nox and knew immediately I located the ring.

I called Paul and his wife over as and his Wife of 36 years if she would like to put his wedding band back on his fingers!! Paul had recently lost weight and his wedding band was extremely loose!!

Check out the video of this 18k gold wedding recovery and return;

They were very happy to get this sentimental wedding band back to were it belongs!!

Paul will be making a donation to the Kelly Shires Breast Cancer Foundation as part of my “pay-it-forward” program. In turn, Paul will receive and tax receipt!

Thank you Paul for entrusting me with helping you recover and return your lost wedding band!!

Lost silver ring in snow… ‘Miracle on Water St” Guelph, Ontario

  • from Brampton (Ontario, Canada)

Received a phone call inquiring if I can metal detect in snow for a lost ring. Of course I said yes. I was unable to make the time frame and sent a local & newly recruited ring finder member Glenn Boles.

I arrived an hour later and offered my assistance.

The client had just left. With-in 10 minutes of her leaving I located her Friend’s missing silver ring. Glenn & I called and asked if she could come back. She offered to bring coffee’s too.

We recreated the motions of finding her Friend’s lost ring. She was overjoyed and advised she will surprise her Friend Christmas Day. The ring was very sentimental.
