I got an email from a fellow who lost his White gold wedding band while watching the”Tough Mudder” competiton, held in the Whistler B.C. Olympic Park. I called Manfred back right away, as the sooner you call the better chance you have of getting it back. We arranged to meet that evening and search for the lost ring. We met at the gate house up there and were confronted by security, I’t didn’t look like they were going to let us in as it was getting pretty late. Manfred was so concerned about his ring and I could tell it was killing him as we were so close to getting it back. Nothing we could do but wait untill the next morning to come back and search. I am always eager to get the item back to it’s owner, so we met up at the same spot early the next day. The competition was on again and people were starting to show up. We drove in, parked and walked about 5 minutes to the hill where he and his wife climbed up to get a better view the day before and he slipped, that’s how the ring was lost. Detector in hand and ready to go, I started to search! The hill was steep and covered with long wet grass. I slipped a few times myself trying to get up it but, a few minutes in and I got a great signal from my machine. I looked through the grass and there was the large gold ring! He was soooo happy to see it again and I was very happy to help!
Love this job!
I got the call last night, just before dark, from a man who had lost his gold ring while wrestling with his friends in the snow. I called Jonny back right away, he was very worried he would never see his ring again. The ring had a crest on it and had been in his family for many many years. something like this could not be replaced. He asked me if I was able to come up the next day and look for it, I told him he would be able to sleep better tonight with the ring back on his finger(I waste no time) It was dark and very cold by the time I got to Whistler. I picked up Jonny from work, his boss was very kind and let him leave for a bit so he could show me the spot. I did all the detective work and started to search. It took me longer to set up my detector than it did to find it. Two minuts in I got my first signal. With my headlamp on I started to dig, the snow was very hard and compact as there was about six people looking for it the night before. As I was digging away, Jonny was right beside me and out poped a BIG gold ring. He couldn’t believe it, he was in shock! I dusted it off and placed it in his good hand( he was a little banged up from his wrestling match in the snow) He was so happy and I was too. I love what I do! Glad I was able to help!
I recieved a call today, from a woman who lost her White Gold Wedding Ring while throwing a snowball last night. I made an early trip up to Whistler to help her find it. I met Dee and her husband in the parking lot in front of the Royal Bank and after a bit of detective work I was ready to go! 10 minuts into it, I was preforming a grid search of the area and all of a sudden I hear ”We found it”. It was right above where I was searching. Im glad I could help you find your ring Dee and now your story continues!
I love this job!
Large gold wedding band
I recieved an e-mail from a man who had been xc skiing at the Whistler Olympic park and had lost his gold wedding band after hitting a jump and taking a tumble, not once but TWICE! lol. After a great day of skiing he was driving home and noticed his ring was missing. I called Jonas immediately, he was in the process of digging around in the snow trying to find his ring. I told him I could be there in 30 min and he met us at the gate when we got there he took us to the crash zone which was on a steep hill with about 4 feet of snow. I have to admit, when I saw the area I knew it was going to be a challenge. I hiked up and within 10 min I got a great signal and started to dig. Sure enough shining before me was a BIG gold ring. I was soooo happy to find it. I picked it up and pretended to search a bit more, as I got closer to Jonas. I told him ” Well, there is no point searching here anymore because it is not in the snow…It’s in my hand! ” The sheer look on his face was PRICLESS! I’m very happy I could help you get your ring back Jonas. Thanks to Chris Turner for giving me the opportunity to help people while doing something I love to do!
