Paul and his Wife were completing yard work this past weekend at their home in Guelph, Ontario.
Later in the day after most of the work was completed, Paul got into his vehicle and noticed his wedding band was not on his ring finger.
I headed out with my Minelab Equinox800 multi frequency metal detected. Started to grid search near the fence line. Back tracked the back yard. Then into the side yard we’re 8+ bags of leaves had been packed in.
Four to six feet away I had a solid double tone of 18 on the Nox and knew immediately I located the ring.
I called Paul and his wife over as and his Wife of 36 years if she would like to put his wedding band back on his fingers!! Paul had recently lost weight and his wedding band was extremely loose!!

They were very happy to get this sentimental wedding band back to were it belongs!!

Angela was out completing farm duties on a beautiful day in a lovely area of Caledon in the quaint village of Belfountain.
Angela and her good Friend Sarah are both horse owners and I’ve know them for a while now. They were loading the horses and the donkeys during the into a trailer throughout the day to head off to their winter digs. Eddie the donkey was not wanting any part of getting on the trailer and had to go for a walk-a-bout with Angela to relax.
Later that day, Angela realized one of her her diamond earrings was missing. Sarah immediately called me for help as she knew I was a metal detectorista and a proud member of the global organization called TheRingFindersDotCom. I had helped another one of Sarah’s Friends successfully recover and return two stainless steel throwing knives lost on his property!
I proceeded immediately after work to Angela’s home and discussed her path throughout the day on her farm. I was in for the very difficult task because any lost small earring or small linked chain is extremely hard to find with a metal detector because there is so little material. It is absolutely a needle in the haystack! I did however call upon a Minelab metal Detexperts and fellow RingFinders Laurie and Eric for advise on my metal detector settings! Park 2 mode and 40 hertz! BINGO! I was able to detect the other earring in Angela’s possession!!! I had hope!
First evening I attempted to check around to south end of the small barn and then looked inside were some equipment was. The evening turned dss asap and cold. My headlamp was helpful but Angela invited me in for a hot drink and dinner! We called it a night! She really felt there was no luck to find it.
On the second day in the late afternoon I proceeded to check in the chicken coop area then the other half of the small barn. I then proceeded continuing my grid search pattern into the laneway where they were loading of the horses and donkeys took place.
Within 20 minutes I had a strong tone and I was completely shocked and amazed that I spotted under a half inch of dirt the beautiful diamond earring was there. I truly was in disbelief as I knew this task was a tremendous challenge.
Angela since returned and was awaiting her husband Ariel to come home. I didn’t let on to Angel that I found the earring and was now looking for the earring screw back!
I was trying to think of ways on how to surprise her and her husband! I then was invited in to warm up as well the offer of another lovely dinner. I then asked Angela to do a starting video for the RingFinders blog for good luck and finally this was the golden opportunity to recorder the surprise!!

I have a “Pay-it-forward” program for recovering and returning clients item(s)! I usually have a reasonable call out fee which I waived. The reward for finding the clients item instead of me receiving a reward, is my request for the client to make an immediate donation to the Kelly Shires Breast Cancer Foundation!! The client then receives a tax receipt for the donation! We ALL WIN!!

Angela is my top donator in the 13 years of my participation and charity fundraising for the Kelly Shires Breast Cancer Foundation!!! I was completely humbled and felt my services were truly appreciated!! This is by far my best fundraising year for this incredible foundation!!

So I got a call for a lost wedding ring. The gentleman was weeding his raised bed gardens in the fall to prepare them for replanting. At the end of the day, after discovering the missing ring he figured that on one of the many trips to throw the handfuls of weeds into the woods, his wedding ring joined them on the flight. He proceeded to search the many weed piles on the forest floor, with no luck. He even borrowed a metal detector, which made lots of noise and gave him exercise but no wedding ring. He then found me online and called and we arranged a time to meet/search. I arrived, got the whole story and saw the search areas. I then laid out and started my search, with the highest likely areas of loss first. After searching all the gardens, weed throw areas, paths to and from, and possible areas of other outdoor chores and coming up empty, it was time to expand the search area. After a 1/2 hr and 8ft outside te original search area, I heard the tone that I was looking for, and after moving some grass aside there was a lovely circle of gold looking back at me. I pulled a surprise reveal by asking him to see his wife’s matching ring to remind me what I was looking for, and when he showed it to me I said “You’re right it does look exactly like yours”, and placed his ring beside her ring in my hand. A confused look came over him followed by a wave of realization and his eyes welled up and as he started thanking me. That reaction was all the thanks I needed.
Jen & Paulo went for a day of sun and fun with their children to the municipal beach at Long Point, Ontario August 15th, 2020.
Paulo caught a football in the water and watched as his 14k white gold wedding band popped of his finger and into the water. Later in the week Jen had googled list ring and TheRingFinder’s website came up. Jen had called me and I explained there was a registered ring finder a great deal closer to the location. Unfortunately he was not available and recommend me!
I proceeded to met Jen, Paulo and kids on August 22nd, 2020 early morning. The waters were quite rough with an undertow. After grid searching a wide area for about 4 hours, they had to head home. I continued gridding a larger area and went back to a middle further out portion to re-grid. No luck.
This past week the weather was getting cooler and work was hectic. So I decided to book a holiday day off and ventured back down to Long Point on my own. With-in 15 minutes on my second pass back to shore I had an 11/12 on the Minelab Equinox 800 detector 6” down! Pulled the wedding band out on the first scoop!!!!

Michael and his family rented a cottage in the Port Carling, Muskoka Lakes Cottage country area in Ontario!
The cottage was nestled in the pine trees with an incredible view on Lake Joseph!
Michael had gone for a swim and later in the day he realized his custom wedding band crafted from an engine fan blade of an F-16 fighter jet was no longer on his finger! He and his wife Heather searched their cottage and boat with no luck!
Michael somehow got talking to my Friend Don “The HULSTER” Hulse whom works at the transfer station. Don advised Michael to call his Wife Laurie for my information!
I received a message from him and agreed to head up very early the following Labour Day holiday morning to search in the water!
Happy to have pulled off the surprise in recovering Michael’s unique wedding band!!
