I received a message from my daughter Macey who was on the beach with her boyfriend who is a lifeguard on the beach in Ocean City,NJ. A woman had approached they lifeguards stating that her husband had just lost his wedding ring in the ocean while swimming. Overhearing the woman my daughter stated that my dad can find it for you! She told her that I find rings for people all the time with my metal detector. getting information from the woman as to where the loss took place I arrived to the area a couple hours later around 8pm as the tide was going out. After a few minutes of searching I found a bracelet and then a tungsten wedding band like the one described. I figured I got it and since the area was giving up targets I decided to continue hunting to see what else could be found? Well a few minutes later I found another tungsten wedding band lol! Ready to head out for the night and seeing a message from my daughter asking how I was making out? I sent a picture of the 2 rings asking which one lol? She replied that it was actually the second one that I had found so glad I decided to stay and keep looking for other items! We contacted the owners and arranged for my daughter to meet them on the beach the next day for the return. Another great return! Great team work Macey!!! #96 Lost ring return!
While having dinner at a local beach restaurant I received a message from a friend about a post on a site regarding a lost wedding ring at the beach earlier that day. After making contact with the owners they stated that it was lost later in the afternoon during high tide while playing with the kids in waist deep water. One of the kids accidentally kicked him in the hand and the ring fell off and he explained that she felt horrible about it. Now since it was hours later and the tide was now going out I explained this would be the best time to meet at the beach even though it was night time. They knew it was lost right in front of the lifeguard stand so once we met at the beach we headed to that area. Since the waves were a little rough that day I started my grid pattern at one side up higher on the slope working towards the other side and following down to the waters edge as the tide went out. After a few trash targets and a couple coins I got a nice gold tone on my White’s beach Hunter ID and scooped up the wet sand rinsing it in the water revealing the gold wedding band in the scoop! I called the couple over as they were trying to find it with a flashlight in the water frantically and held the ring up stating “I got it!” They’re look of amazement and relief was awesome and couldn’t wait to tell the girl they got it back. Another very happy couple was able to get back to enjoying their vacation! #97 lost ring recovery!
I received a call from Alex who got my name and metal detecting services information from the campground owners in hopes that I could find his wedding band he had lost about 2 weeks ago in the swimming lake. I had actually just done a recovery in this lake earlier in the week and was confident I could locate his ring. We arrived at the lake and we entered the water in the area he lost it in while playing with his daughter. While searching he was explaining how much the ring meant to him and 12 years of marriage so he was really desperate to find it. I started to grid search the area and after digging a few coins I got a nice gold signal from my White’s MX Sport metal detector. Knowing that this could be his ring I slowing eased my sand scoop into the sand and brought it to the surface. As the sun reflected into the scoop I could see his wet beautiful diamond ring laying in the bottom of the scoop. He and his friend were totally amazed and filled with excitement with the recovery and Alex immediately said thank you! I could feel his relief and thankfulness in the hand shake and see the look on his face. The people on the beach and in the water around us just added to the moment of yet another great recovery! Recovery #95
I received a call from a woman asking for my help finding her son-in-laws wedding ring he had lost in a swimming lake while playing with his kids. she explained that he was really upset about losing it and that it meant the world to him. Hoping I would be able help perform what many consider to be a miracle she asked if I would be willing to come out to the campground where they were staying for the season and give it a try? Securing permission and entry to the lake area upon my arrival we arrived at the beach and Tina & Tim showed me the area where their son-in-law had lost it the previous week. Starting my search moving from shallow to deep water I began a grid pattern waiting for the right signal from my metal detector. After 45 minutes and numerous other coin, junk jewelry and trash items I was happy to see his white gold wedding band show up in my scoop! Waiting and watching from the pavilion on the beach they were amazed when I walked out of the water holding the ring up. We couldn’t wait to send a picture to the couple with the great news that the ring had been found. They couldn’t have been more happy and thankful for my services! Recovery #93 is in the scoop!
I was contacted by a young girl who had lost her engagement ring in the ocean while swimming 5 days earlier. Although she had posted it on Craigslist and others had gone out and searched for it her ring was still lost somewhere in the surf. After speaking with her and getting a description of the area where she lost it I told her I would go out that night to see what I can do? 5 days of being tossed around in the water, buried in the sand or possibly found by someone else metal detecting I wasn’t sure it be a successful hunt but you never know until you look. Arriving at the beach that night at low tide I started searching the area in front of the life guard stands in the wet sand. After about 30 minutes and digging a few coins I got a nice signal from my White’s metal detector scooped up the sand and as the water washed through the scoop I could see her ring laying in the bottom! I immediately took a picture and sent it to her and was right away granted with a very excited young lady who had been praying for my success in recovering her very special ring. We agreed to meet the following week on that beach on her birthday for the return. Happy birthday! Congratulations Jenny! Another great recovery!
I responded to a call from a fellow Ring finder Dave Milsted asking if I could help recover a lost ring as he was unable as he is recovering from surgery? Absolutely willing to help Dave and the owner of the ring out I then contacted Derek.
He explained that his fiance’ had lost her engagement ring on their front lawn the day before and although they had searched for it they had no luck.
I met Derek, staked out the area with flags and began my grid pattern and after just a few minutes I got a nice clean signal from my White’s V3i metal detector. Reaching down and moving the grass aside revealed the diamond ring! At that time he was talking with neighbors who wished him luck and said “Here you go!” They were amazed at the recovery and he was extremely happy and a couldn’t wait to call his fiance’ with the great news!
Another great recovery!
