Ring found in field

  • from Mount Pleasant (Michigan, United States)

A friend of my wife and I called me to ask if I could find his bosses ring. They work for the local drain commission and while out in a field working, our friends boss brushed his pants off before getting into the truck losing his wedding ring in the tall grass. They tried to find it using the flashlights on their phones and a device that detects only Ferris metals with no luck. Luckily they marked their location with a flag. I met our friend in town and he drove us to the location. Our friend removed the flag and I swung right over where the flag had been and got a gold signal. I bent down with my pin pointer and there it was. It took me about 30 seconds.

Lost ring found at the beach

  • from Mount Pleasant (Michigan, United States)

I found this ring for this young lady while I was at a local beach metal detecting. She forgot it on her towel, and when she got up to leave, it fell on the grass. Her friend asked me if I had been in the area, as they had left and later realized that the ring was missing. She was walking away, like she didn’t want to ask me for help. I asked if she lost something, and she told me what happened. It was a quick search, because they knew right where they were sitting.
I was detecting at the beach and this girls friend asked if I could find her ring. They had just left, when the girl noticed that she didn’t have her ring. She had left it on a towel and when she got up to leave, she forgot about the ring. It didn’t take long because she knew right where they were at when she lost the ring.

Class ring found 20 plus years later.

  • from Mount Pleasant (Michigan, United States)

I found this Ferris state university class ring at the ball field in Ithaca Mi. I almost passed over it because I was getting tired and I thought it might be another chewed up zinc penny. To my surprise it was a 10 k gold class ring. I looked at the inside edge and found the name of the owner and immediately started looking for James Thompson. As it turned out James is the principal at Ithaca high school. When I arrived at the school to return the ring, James told me the story of how he lost it. He said that he was coaching football and it must have came off while throwing the ball. This was more than twenty years ago. If it wasn’t for my wife asking me to pick up our daughter I wouldn’t have been there to find it, because I had already left another park and was heading back home. For some reason I seem to find gold when I follow my wife’s orders. James was very happy to have his ring back, and I was happy to have found it for him.

Lost ring at Port Huron state park

  • from Mount Pleasant (Michigan, United States)

I found this ring for a lady at Port Huron state park in Michigan. My family and I had went to Port Huron for the weekend and while I was searching the beach a lady asked me if I could help her find her ring that her grandma had given her. She told me that she was throwing a frisbee with her family and she felt it come off. It only took about five minutes to find it. She was really excited to get it back and I was so excited to find it for her that I forgot to take pictures. I went back later to get pictures, but she had already taken the ring back to her car. She did send a picture later, which is the one I posted. I’ll get it right next time. The most important thing is that she got her grandmother’s ring back.
