Lost Ring College Station Recovered in Flowerbed

On April 21, 2014 I received a call from a lady who said a Texas A&M college student had lost his Aggie ring while planting flowerbeds for The Big Event.  (The Big Event is a once a year event where thousands of Aggies volunteer their time to give back to the community.)  The student apparently put his ring in his jacket sometime during the day and when he left at the end of the day the ring was no longer there.  A visual search happened but did not turn up the ring.  The student went to a local sporting goods store and purchased a metal detector for $200 but had no luck in finding it.  My sister and I arrived at the woman’s house that evening and she walked us through what occurred that day.  I started on one side and my sister started on the other…….roughly 3 minutes in…..victory!  The woman who contacted us was very excited and couldn’t wait to call the young man to return the ring.  It felt good to find the ring….especially for someone who lost it while volunteering to help the community!

  1. Good job. It’s nice to do something for someone who volunteer’s for others.
