I received a phone call late Monday night from Katie. She explained that she had been visiting Carmel Beach that day with her boyfriend and had taken off her ring to go in the water. When she was done and they were leaving, she picked up her belongings and the ring had fallen out of her pocket unknowingly. By the time she realized it was missing, it was too late.  We met early this morning for low tide and began our search.  Three hours later I found it, it was about six inches down in the sand, it’s amazing how fast gold sinks.  I put it in my pocket and walked over to Katie and made a comment on my few finds so far, I knew she was getting discouraged so I figured it was the perfect time to tell her I had also found her ring and I put it in her hand.  Her eyes lit up and she literally jumped for joy!  I had a great time searching for her ring and am thankful for meeting two very nice young people.  A great way to start the day!
