Broken Engagement Ring Lost Diamond Amagansett

  • from Suffolk County (New York, United States)

I received a call from Joann that she was walking her dog and that the leash got caught on her engagement ring and pulled the diamond setting off into the grass.  It was late but I told her I would come out. It was about 7:30 when I got there and she showed me the area that this happen. I searched until dark with no success.

I told her I would be back, it rained the next day and I said I would be out the following day.  I returned and started the search with a new method, using an all metal detecting trick I learned from a friend.  After a short time I found the diamond.  I called Joann and asked her to meet me in the area where the diamond was lost.  I showed her the Diamond and I received a big Hugh.

Very nice stuff there Ray! I gotta ask though….what is your all metal detecting trick? Is it searching in the ALL METAL Mode? I have a time finding the little tiny small stuff myself and if there is a special trick I would love to learn! Keep up the good work my friend. Mike in sunny Florida…with TRFs!

Ray, I agree with Mike McInroe. You make finding that small piece of metal sound easy. What machine are you using and what’s the trick? I have had success using my Gold Bug 2 for very small items like diamond stud earrings.
