Hello readers,

I received a call from Paul last week about his wife’s lost engagement ring. She had dropped it on the bank of the canal in the town of Perinton. I agreed to come and help him take a look on the weekend.

I arrived at Paul’s house and had him explain what had happened. I grabbed my detector and climbed down onto the bank and took a couple swings and found a nail. Paul was standing there helping look, and about two seconds later, he turned over a rock and found the ring himself. We both shared a laugh. I am happy the ring was recovered more than anything. Thanks Paul for using the ring finders and for the generous reward! Take care!

Hello readers,

I received a call from Steve last week about a lost ring. The ring flew off his hand while he was at a Fourth of July party last weekend during a little wrestling match between him and his friends in the sand after a few drinks. Pretty standard behavior as far as I’m concerned. He saw the ring come off and as you can imagine, they spent the rest of the day looking for it. He rented a metal detector and tried to find it himself, but had no luck. He found me online and explained what happened, and I agreed to come and take a look for him on the weekend.

I arrived Saturday morning and had Steve explain in further detail what had happened. I grabbed my detector and started combing the beach, using my grid lines. I was extra thorough as I didn’t want to miss the ring. After about two hours of searching, I finally got a great signal. There was the ring! And wow what a beautiful ring it was. It was his grandfathers ring from Italy and upon seeing it, I realized why it meant so much to him. What a great feeling to return a piece of history to its rightful owner. We were both thrilled. Thanks so much Steve for giving me the opportunity to get your ring back, and for the generous reward!

Hello all!

Just wanted to share a neat story with everyone. I received a call from Alex on Thursday 5/21 about a lost ring. I asked Alex for some details on what happened, and was a bit concerned to hear that he wasn’t quite sure where it was lost. He explained he had taken it off before he mowed his lawn, and placed it in his pocket, and at some point during his yardwork, the ring went MIA. I agreed to meet Alex on Saturday afternoon to take a look. I arrived Saturday morning and met Alex and his wife, Jenna. Very friendly people. I once again asked Alex to try to recreate what he thought happened and was still left with a vague start. So I grabbed my detector and tried to get lucky in a couple spots before laying out my grid lines. No luck. So I started in the front yard, being extra careful to check every single signal with the vibraprobe. Took me a good two or three hours of searching. I was beginning to think the ring wasn’t in the yard. I was about to give up but decided to check the backyard. There was a metal dog fence up that was making my detector go off with every swing, when I noticed a nice signal that was in between swings. I pinpointed the signal and looked down and there was the ring. I was ecstatic to go break the good news. I walked up to Alex and Jenna, who were unaware I had found it and I said I was so sorry, but I ended up finding the ring… Seemed like a good time for a little deception. They were beyond happy, and both sported a look of complete disbelief. What a nice moment. So thank you Alex and Jenna for using the ringfinders and thanks for the generous reward!! Take care!

Lost keys recovered in Rochester, NY

Hello readers,

I received a call Thursday evening, February 26th, 2015 about a lost set of keys from a person who wishes their identity not be revealed. For the sake of the story we will name this person Al. Al Nonnimus.

I was at work late in the evening when Al contacted me about a lost set of keys in his parking lot at work. He briefly explained what happened and it sounded like we would have some luck, so I agreed to meet him after I got done.

After making the half hour trek, I met with Al and had him explain the details and reenact what happened. I grabbed my detector and started swinging. Got a great signal after about ten swings. Lo and behold, Al’s keys. Al shook my hand in disbelief of how fast I found them, and was genuinely grateful.

Thanks Al for giving me the opportunity to recover your keys, and for using the ring finders. Also, thanks for the very generous reward!

Sincerely,
Matt McDonald

Hello all,

So I received a call from Joe last week about a lost ring in a park. Upon listening to the story, I was immediately intrigued, and confident we would be successful. So I agreed to make the hour and fifteen minute drive to help him find the rogue ring…

Upon my arrival Saturday morning, I was greeted by Joe with a handshake and a smile, along with a million thank yous for making the trip. An extremely likable fellow. So I wanted a little more detail about how he lost the ring and asked Joe to elaborate. Joe explained that he was teaching his son how to make and use a hand drill to make fire in a survival situation. He seemed well versed in knowing survival skills and had a vast knowledge of the outdoors. He removed the ring and placed it on his boot so he could get the proper friction necessary to be successful with starting the fire. Upon leaving the trail, he walked a ways and had that all too familiar feeling of losing something important.

I grabbed my gear out of the car and started following Joe to where he had lost it. I took about 10 steps into the trail and was flagged down by a park ranger, who immediately told me there was no metal detecting in NY state parks. We were crushed. I pulled the ranger aside and explained our situation and after some careful convincing, the ranger agreed to let us look if he supervised. What a relief.

So we walked a good mile down the trail to where Joe was. I turned on my detector. Placed my headphones on. First swing of the coil was a great signal. Bingo! There it was. Even the park ranger was wearing a smile after that walk. Joe throws his hands up in the air and some high fiving and hugs were exchanged. What a great feeling. I love what I do.
