Gold pendant found.!!! Toronto

I had a call on Thursday the 18th about a lost necklace pendant that a young couple had lost.

They had been taking a video in snow covered parking lot in downtown Toronto when the boyfriend lost the pendant, an Egyptian Ankh pendant that was custom made.
When they watched the video they took, you could clearly see the ankh on his necklace for a few minutes and then he turned around for a minute and when he turned again and started to walk away, the necklace was hanging around his neck but the ankh was no longer attached.
They searched in the dark for it from 9:30pm to 1:30 am with no luck as it was now buried in snow somewhere in the lot.
I met them both on Saturday morning and had them show me what had happened two nights earlier.
I grabbed my gear and tried to get lucky walking a loose grid pattern for ten minutes with no luck.
I went back to my car and grabbed my wooden gridder and started making grid lines in the snow with it. Gridding is a pain to do and it’s time consuming but it’s the only way to ensure you cover every square inch of your search area.
After about an hour, I decided to search a little bit out of the area
where the pendant should be and got a great signal right next to a sewer grate, maybe a foot away.
After pinpointing the area and removing a few inches of snow, I could see the bottom of the ankh.

The gentleman was extremely lucky his pendant didn’t fall into the sewer.

I called them over with the good news and they were over the moon.
We took some pics, talked for a few minutes and I was on my way.
Really happy I was able to help this nice young couple out.

Take care,

Mark Ellis
