On Saturday February 16, 2013, I received a call from Arun about his lost gold and diamond ring.
Arun had been playing with his daughter on the second floor outdoor patio of his condo building in downtown Toronto, and when he flicked some snow off of his hand, his ring went flying.
After searching for a while and not being able to find his ring, Arun found me online and called me up.
I met with Arun on Sunday morning and soon found out the patio area of his building is loaded with rebar, making my metal detector unusable in the area. I had to rely on my pin-pointer only and grid searched on my hands and knees for over three hours. As it got too cold to continue, we packed it in for the day.
I returned to the patio again this morning, Tuesday February 19, 2013 as we had some rain the night before which would have knocked down a lot of the snow.
After eyeballing the entire patio in a grid pattern for an hour with no luck, I went back to the pin-pointer in the still snowed over areas. After about ten minutes, I got a really nice signal in a big pile of slush and when I dug it out, it was Arun’s beautiful diamond ring.
I met up with Arun shortly afterwards and returned his ring to him. He was obviously very happy and relieved to see his ring again.
Great to meet you Arun, and really happy I was able to help you out.
Thank you so much for the nice reward. This really helps keep my service going.
