Antone called and asked if the Coastal town of Manzanita, OR was to far for me to drive; “No, I’ve found a few rings for folks along the coast over the years, nearly no distance is to far!” My wife’s ears perked up when she overheard me say beach and the 3 ½ hr trek began early the next morning. Once on site, I met Antone, Lyndsey, their bundled up newborn & dog; they were there for a few days of needed relaxation and leaving the next day. There was a staked deep hole & a staked pile of sand where they had hand searched/sifted. I searched the hole first figuring they must have missed it and then the pile. About 4-6” under the pile was the heavy Tungsten ring… mission complete. Disbelief, hand shakes, and talking followed then I recalled my wife was still in the car knitting; I often lose track of time when I’m talking with such nice people who are curious and appreciative.
