Paul sent me this email:
Please let me know how I can retain your services for finding my wedding ring lost in my back yard a few years back. I’m relatively certain it’s there somewhere.
Paul told me that he’d lost the ring while installing a sprinkler in his back yard. He’d considered renting a metal detector, but called TheRingfinders instead.
When we met at his house this week, the first thing I did was search the main yard. I recovered some coins, brass fittings and junk, but no ring. Then we dug up the sprinkler head itself and discovered some bad news-the pipe was 15 inches (38cm) underground, deeper than either of my metal detectors would be able to find a ring.
Before we did any more digging, I decided to search the side yard, over near the hose where Paul had washed off his hands on the day the ring was lost. Not far from the hose, I found a shallow target that showed as mixed metals on the detector display. But when I tried again at a 90-degree angle, the target separated in two, one clearly iron and one a more interesting metal. Digging just under the surface of the dirt, we found Paul’s ring.
Thank you for the reward, Paul! I’m glad we could recover your ring after it was lost for so long!
