Jenna and her family were enjoying the beach at Fitzgerald Marine Preserve near Half Moon Bay. But when they were getting ready to leave, her husband’s ring flew off his finger as he was brushing away sand. He heard it hit the sand, but could not find it anywhere.
We met Jenna at the beach the next day. She knew exactly where they had been sitting, and where her husband had lost the ring. So we drew lines in the sand to mark our search area.
Then something amazing happened-as I dragged my metal detector along the beach to draw a line, it pushed something bright and shiny out of the sand. It was the ring. Jenna had put us in exactly the right location, because the ring was at the edge of the search area, right in the center of the side of the rectangle.
This has never happened to us before-we didn’t even get to turn on our metal detectors. But we found the ring because Jenna knew the exact location where it had been lost. When you find the ring, it really doesn’t matter how you do it!
