Three day tough search at Ludington mi. state park.

  • On the 28th of august i received a text message from Jessica who had lost her wedding ring set in lake Michigan.   After sending me a map of where she thought she lost it i geared up to go the next morning.  Day one 8/29/19,  waves so high i couldn’t even get 15 feet off shore without getting tossed all over.   Day two  8/30/19,  tried again but the waves still tossed me all over.  Day three  8/31/19  the am weather report said 4 mph winds so off to ludington again with high hopes.   When i arrived i was surprised to see 2 foot waves and the wind was around 10 mph and rising.  I headed straight to the water and out to the 3 ft. depth the ring was supposed to be in.  I was guessing at depth do to waves and swells constantly changing depth.  An hour and a half later and the waves we’re going over my head and pushing me all over.  Frustrated i decided to call it a day before i got dragged out to Davy Jones locker.  I went about 15 feet toward shore and got a hit.  My third hit for the day.  It took 3 scoops to get the target and when i looked in the scoop after rinsing the sand out,  there it was.  I couldn’t believe my eyes.  I had already accepted that i wasn’t going to find it that day.  I stopped to see Dan the head guy at the park to show him the ring and thanked him on behalf of Jessica and myself.  Metal detecting is not allowed at the beach do to historical reasons.  Another happy camper, A grateful young lady.  Another smile for the book of smiles.  Chuck TRF

Hi Chuck! I just want to thank you again, like I said, you are my metal-detecting angel! 😊 If I hadn’t contacted you it’d be lost forever and I would have missed it every day for the rest of my life. You are the best!
