On Sunday, October 31st, 2021, I received a phone cal from a gentleman named Robert. Robert informed me he had lost his wedding ring while moving boxes from a house to his truck. I could tell by listening to Robert that he was pretty upset with losing his wedding ring. I informed Robert that I would be available later that day. I met Robert Sunday afternoon around 5:00 p.m.. I asked Robert to reenact what he was doing when he discovered his wedding ring was gone. Robert did a great job and went into great detail describing what he was doing right before he noticed his ring was missing. with the information in hand I immediately went to work searching the grass in the front yard with no luck. Next I went to a side yard next to the driveway and searched that area with negative results. I then moved on to the street just to make sure the ring did not roll down the driveway into the street. No luck in that area either. Robert asked me to search one more area next to the steps of the front porch under some bushes. there were quite a few metal objects on the surface so I switched over to my pin pointer probe to do a more thorough search. I could tell that Robert was losing hope that his ring was gone forever as this was the last area to search. I just finished searching under the bushes when I noticed a 1 foot by 1 foot pathway brick laying on one of the steps. There was about a 1/4 inch crack between the brick and the step. My gut told me to remove that brick and check that crack. as soon as I moved the brick away from the step I immediately saw that color we all love to find, his ring!! I picked it up and handed it to Robert. It took Robert a couple of seconds to realize what he was holding in his hand. After realizing what he was holding Robert was elated to say the least. Robert and I exchanged a high five and some smiles.
