On the evening of  Thursday July 11th,  I received a call from Ryan, a school teacher from SW MN stating he’d lost his ring while swimming at a State Park beach.  Ryan stated his wedding ring was very special because it had belonged to his grandfather who had been married to his grandmother for over 50 years. After his grandfather passed away, his grandmother gave Ryan the ring to use as his wedding band. After about an hour and 15 minutes of searching in the water & countless pull tabs, pennies, and junk, I located the ring in about 3 feet of water. The look on Ryan’s face was as priceless as his grandfathers ring. Here is what happened in Ryan’s words:

“My wife and I took our son swimming at Lake Shetek.  While we were swimming my wife asked if she thought I should take my wedding ring off and I said “no don’t worry about it.”  Later that night I was looking at pictures of us on Facebook and noticed my ring was gone.  It was my wedding ring and it was from my Grandpa who was married for 50 plus years.  I really didn’t want to have to tell my grandma.  I didn’t think there was really anything I could do about it but I found this website and I called Bob.  He said he would meet me out there the next morning.  He searched in the water for about an hour and half before he showed me my ring.  He was so determined to find it that he said “if I don’t find it today I’ll come back in a couple of weeks with my new detector and try again.”  Thank you very much Bob from not only me but my wife.”
