Gary called me last week explaining he had lost his Wedding Ring in autumn of 2013 and that is extremely valuable to him since it was made from his Bar Mitzvah ring and his Fathers Wedding ring. Gary had looked for it before the snow hit and even had someone come out with a metal detector but to no avail. Gary and I agreed to meet at his home since when he lost his ring he had been gardening and preparing the yard for winter.
When I arrived Gary explained that he wasn’t sure where in the yard it would be but I could start in the front yard while he got his jacket and joined me outside. I decided to start on one small strip of grass on the side of the front yard that also contained flower bed with an Apple tree and a Mugo Pine in it, I did the grass area and turned my attention to the the Flower bed ducking under the branches of the apple tree but still managing to loose my headphones twice to the apple tree branches. I checked quickly around the base of the pine but no signals there. I continued checking the grass toward the back fence when Gary joined me and I dug up a few bits of foil, certainly not what he wanted to see. He asked about the flower bed, I answered that I had already checked it but we headed back to recheck the area. Gary suggested trying again under the Mugo Pine, which I did but this time I got a signal under one of the branches close to the plastic border. No matter how well you think you have searched all takes is 1 inch and you can miss the target. I pulled out my Garrett Pin Pointer Pro and narrowed down the location and then dug around until this beautiful custom ring appeared out of the mud.
Needless to say Gary is now one happy man. It always warms my heart to see the smiles on faces when they get back their most treasured items.
Thank you for your generous reward Gary.
