On Sunday October 13, 2013 at approximately 1:45 PM Mrs. Roe of Neptune, NJ called me and reported her husband Chris lost his wedding ring while playing football at a local park in Asbury, NJ. The ring was lost yesterday. After searching the park with a rented metal detector, Chris could not locate the ring. Chris then came across the Ring Finders web site and called me. I immediately left the American Legion hall where I was volunteering my time for our monthly spaghetti dinner and met the Roe’s at the Asbury Post Office. We then drove to the park and Chris pointed out the area where he believes he lost the ring. 2 dimes, 1 quarter, some trash and 1 penny later, my Garrett 250 gave off that “You Have Found Gold” signal after searching the field for 25 minutes. In between the grass blades I plucked out a big old gold ring. With excitement, I called out to Chris “Is this your ring” Chris’s big smile confirmed it was before he said yes. Another big smile was also given by Mrs. Roe when she heard the good news.
