Mark Jachym's Bio

My name is Mark and I’ve been detecting for 5 years now. In the past 2 years I’ve moved my focus on recovering rings and other jewelry that have been lost. Last year I found 13 rings and this year as of now I’m at 17. My first ring return was during the winter. I got a call from a friend saying his stepson had lost a gold family ring in a snow bank. I was more than happy to help out and recovered the ring within an hour. The look on his face and the excitement he showed is why I joined ring finders. It would be nice to help more people out with their lost items that mean so much to them.

Mark went above and beyond when he found a high school class ring from 1972. He tracked down our school and contacted me asking if we had a graduate from 1972 with the initials engraved on the inside. The owner had recently passed but Mark cleaned up the ring and sent it to us and we were able to send it on to the original owner's family. It made for a meaningful remembrance for the family. Thank you Mark!

"Shortly after graduating I lost my class ring at a park after a long day of playing volleyball (something I did at that park very frequently). By the time I had finished playing, it was dark outside and I was unable to locate my ring. I went back to look for it with my friends the next morning, with no success. I had resolved myself to the likely possibility that someone had found/taken it, which was quite upsetting given that I had taken some time to design the ring. Fast forward ~12 years, I receive a message on Facebook from a gentleman named Mark Jachym saying that he believe he had found something of mine, the ring, buried several inches underground, right near the volleyball court I used to play on. I was astonished, I couldn't believe that, after all this time, someone had found it and taken the time to find and reach out to me in order to return it. Mark then sent me my beautifully cleaned ring within a day or two of contacting me. I can't thank mark enough for this kindness, and will always be grateful to him for it."
