Joan Rufener's Bio
I am a self-employed part time Animal Care Specialist and Professional Pet Sitter. I own Whiskers N Wings Pet Sitting Service which covers the Columbia and Little Italy Districts in Downtown San Diego 92101.
When I am not pet sitting, I metal detect nearby San Diego County beaches doing lost jewelry recovery. It is so rewarding and fun!
I began metal detecting in 2011 for fun and exercise. It has grown into a wonderful way to be of service and help people find their lost jewelry and other items. Most recently (summer 2019), I found a gentleman’s key fob at Pacific Beach. The day before, he wrapped it up, buried it and went swimming but then couldn’t find it. As soon as he saw me the next day he asked for help. I found it! Happy to help! He asked if I charged. I said no. He insisted and give me a generous reward. Now I accept rewards.
My trusty Minelab Equinox 800 with 10” coil is very sensitive, waterproof to 10’ and can find anything made of metal!
I love finding and returning people’s valuables. Let me help you.
